Weekly Update

This weeks accomplishment was Tyler came DOWN the steps by himself! He turned around rather than going head first and scooted down each step without any help.

Another big thing this week was that he shakes his head "no". It is funny to ask him questions like "is Tyler a good boy" or "could Mama stand to lose a few pounds" and he shakes his head no. Oh, he is a good boy! LOL!

He can say Mama and Dada and I'm pretty certain he says "hi". He waves hi and bye, which are pretty much the same just depends on if you are coming or going.

Tomorrow Tyler has his 9 month check up with the doctor. I swear he has to weigh 30lbs but in reality probably a little over 20 =*)

Meme (great-grandmother) ended up in the hospital this week and Tyler has been to see her almost every day. Some would probably question me taking him to the hospital but her face sure does light up when she sees him. Besides, I don't really have any other option. We drop Collin off at school and go keep her company until it is time to pick him up. I'm so glad that Collin and Tyler have had the opportunity to have not only grandparents but also great grandparents. I have such great memories of my grandparents, great grandparents and even great great grandparents growing up! They have a really special place in a child's life and at least for me, created lots of happy memories.

We have had lots of Halloween fun this week but I will post more pics after the official Trick or Treat tomorrow. Here's one to tie you over til then.

Isn't he just so stinkin cute!!??!!

Letters to Miliana

We were fortunate enough to Skype with Tyler's birth mother this past week. There wasn't much conversation as there is a considerable delay when you use the video but she got a chance to see Tyler. Also, she doesn't really speak English but the ladies at the Central Adoption Authority help in translating.

We did, however, find out that she is able to access this blog so the focus will be a little different now than what I had originally planned. Hopefully this can be a way for her to keep in touch with Tyler and observe him as he grows. I am hoping to update at least weekly and focus mainly on Tyler and the things she will probably want to know. I am going to post "family" stuff on our other blog "The Story of Collin" which has been up and running much longer. I have put a link to that blog in the top left corner so feel free to check it out as well.

We were glad to hear that all is well with Miliana and her family in the RMI. We had been advised that she was admitted tot the hospital for some sort of kidney issue. We still aren't clear on what the problem was but she is out of the hospital and seems to be doing well.

Her son Niror started school. He is Collin's age so probably preschool. Collin was pretty bummed that he didn't get to see his "best pal" Niror when we Skyped. Due to the time change and our schedules we probably wont see Niror or Kella much on Skype unless they are out of school.

Speaking of Niror...it seems like everyday Wyatt and I comment how much Tyler reminds us of him. They are both very ornery little boys and full of energy. I was looking back at videos of our trip and all I could think was oh boy we are going to have our hands full! Niror always had a silly little smile on his face and even though none of us had any idea what the other was saying you just knew he was hell on wheels! Tyler has that same little (adorable) devilish grin and you just know it's going to be followed by little hands in the dog bowl or something crashing to the ground and breaking but how can you get mad!?! I have to say I do love coming home and walking through the door to see his little face just light up with that smile as he bear crawls across the floor to climb up my leg. It just melts my heart!

What can get a little old though is the sleeping situation in this house...or lack of it. Tyler had croup and a double ear infection last week so he wasn't sleeping really well. He is feeling better but his sleep has not improved. It really wreaks havoc on the whole family. Even poor Collin is sleep deprived and when he doesn't get his sleep you can tell!! So it's been a fun week or so at the Wilson house! It is funny though, it is so hard to tell when Tyler is sick because he always seems to be a happy little guy, constantly smiling and playing. I'm not complaining but I think we might be a little behind the eight ball getting him to the doctor because he acts the same way sick or not.

By the way, he is a whopping 21 lbs!! Only 10 pounds less than his 4 year old brother!! I put an outfit on him today that I swear fit him 2 weeks ago...not so much today!! Hopefully we can keep everyone well this week!!

Almost Walking!

Tyler is not quite 9 months now and with the help of a new push toy he is walking around everywhere!I am constantly amazed at how quickly he is learning and progressing!
